I had the wonderful good fortune to grow up on a farm in southern Minnesota where I spent many happy childhood hours making mudpies. Later I earned a B.A. in chemistry and biology from Bemidji State University, worked in research labs for many years, went to law school for awhile, married, and had two children. Eventually, I returned to mud—porcelain, this time.

I love working with porcelain. It is truly beautiful and elegant. My goal is to make high quality pots that convey the special qualities of porcelain—pots that others will be happy to own and use.
